A Peaceful Day
I needed the kind of day I had today.
I was originally thinking I might unload the Honda and go for a ride, or drag out the bicycle and go for a ride, but in the end I did neither – and pretty much nothing else today, either. I guess the hard work and late nights (of hard work) on Eve and Rick’s kitchen, plus the time zone fiasco yesterday, were too much for me. My age must be catching up with me.
I had a “breakfast date” with two of Toni’s friends this morning at 9. They had very thoughtfully chosen a place to go that is literally right across the street from my motel, so I didn’t even have to drive. We had a great visit, and they gave me a location for The UPS Store where I could take my Jeep part. They also gave me several suggestions for things to do today, but so far I’ve ignored them all.
After leaving Bev and Phil, I drove to The UPS Store and gave them my Jeep part to ship to the gear shop in Ohio. They say it’ll be there Tuesday. So that’s done, and now I can go back to playing tourist and/or annoying houseguest.
By 12:30 I was feeling really tired so I came back to the motel and napped for almost 2 hours. This afternoon I surfed the Interwebs and cleaned out some of my email folders. I had dinner at Ruby Tuesday (across the street and down half a block – another short walk from the motel) and a long hot soak in the room’s whirlpool tub.
And now I’m writing all this trivial drivel because you, Dear Reader, deserve *something*! <grin>
I’m now into Week 3 of 5, and from Michigan I go to Indiana (again), Ohio (again), Kentucky, West Virginia (just passing through), Pennsylvania, Maryland (passing through), Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia (passing through), Florida, Alabama / Mississippi / Louisiana (passing through quickly), Texas, New Mexico (passing through), and home to Arizona.
Oh, and I’ve reached another inch-stone: I got notified recently that I’ve posted 20 entries in this blog! Woo-Hoo! 😉
